The municipality of Sinacaban was created through an Executive Order No. 258 dated on August 30, 1949, during the administration of President Elpedio L. Quirino. Its boundaries on the north by the municipality of Jimenez; on the south by the municipality of Tudela; on the east by Iligan Bay and on the west by the municipality of Don Victoriano.
The town of Sinacaban was created upon the intercession initiated by some prominent persons led by the late Mayor Sofronio K. Avanceña, the first appointed and elected Municipal Mayor of the municipality and other influential and political leaders, namely: Atty. Francisco Alfajardo, Nicanor Al-ag, Herminigildo Japus, Emiliano Abing, Raymundo Pactain, Juan Japuz, Eduardo Pactain, Francisco Azcuna, Guillermo Mahinay, Francisco Labisores, Paquito Ansures, Juan Arboladura, Miguel Maghuyop, Amado Caingles, Modesto Enot, Simplicio Pinaranda, Valentin Sulasula, Basilio Boaquiña, Vidasto Panso and some other persons not mentioned who have helped facilitated in the creation of the municipality Sinacaban.
